Part a: Tips to answer a conflict question

1. Remember the STAR approach when going into a conflict question.

2. Pick an example that's genuine.

3. Explain that you're able to handle conflicts

4. Pay attention when explaining how to come out with a win-win.

5. Show them how you customize your approach depending on the person.

6. Elaborate on how you constructively deal with the situation, but avoid examples where you quit, or get in a fight.

7. Don't be negative towards anyone, no matter the situation. This includes co-workers, bosses and customers as well.

8. Keep it short and to he point.

9. Practice your answer, but don't memorize a speech so you still appear genuine.

Part b: Sample answers

I noticed a co-worker having trouble, so I sat down with them to find out what was going on. I let them know I was concerned, and we talked out our biggest issues with each other and we worked out a compromise. This helped us figure out what we could prioritize, and what could be given up to help both of us move forward.
